all about Art Club

Hello!

Welcome to Art Club! We're Elise and Emile, two lifelong creatives, and we started Art Club because we are passionate about children's art. We can't wait to share our love of imagination, color, and self expression with the next generation of young artists! At Art Club we believe creativity should be playful, messy, magical and most of all, fun!

The Basics

Our hands-on art classes will explore the basics of art through projects that mix whimsy and wonder. We will introduce children to the fundamentals of art in a way that is playful and engaging. The class will explore the basics together focusing on lines, shapes, textures and color — the building blocks of great art. Kids will experiment with multiple medias and will bring their creations to life.

Inspired

We draw inspiration from some of the most imaginative artists like Matisse, Picasso and Cezanne. We will be incorporating these artists' use of bold colors, joyful shapes and vibrant textural worlds to bring art to life. We will be experimenting with still-lifes combining mixed media techniques including collages — one of our favorite ways to work — layering paper, fabric and found objects for truly unique creations that tell a story.

The Schedule

Art Club is offered on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, during extended care. Students in the 3-year-old, 4-year-old, and KT classes are invited to join us for weekly 30-minute small group sessions.
